Goal shot competition of two outfield players or goalkeepers

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Construct a small field with two opposing gates according to the drawing. In each goal is one player (goalkeeper or fielder). The balls are distributed to the two goals.

Procedure

The players act alternately as goalkeeper and shooter. You try to score goals but also to parry the other player's shots. Both players shoot alternately. Both are available for their actions, the space between their baseline cone and the two nearest smaller cone. You have three contacts per action. One for the acceptance / defense, one for the assist and one for the shot on goal. If, during the Assumption / Defense phase, the ball leaves the square of play, or if they place the ball outside their playing quadrilateral, the opposing player may immediately retrieve a new ball from the goal and score a goal. Played on time or result. Option: Depending on the group strength, you can also play with more or fewer ball contacts, or you can make the game room bigger or smaller.

Tip

- Pay attention to correct posture during shooting: Upper body over the ball; Leg about 30- 40 cm laterally offset to the ball, foot points in the direction of firing; Arms swing; the arm closest to the firing leg will move the leg out, the other will move forward; the look is focused on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Always exercise on both feet. - Depending on the player's ball handling, shots from the ground, volley shots or drop kicks are possible. - In a volley, the upper body should be slightly bent forward and hit the ball at a low point (not too high). This gives the ball more pressure and accuracy. - A dropkick hits the ball with the instep just as it touches the ground. - Correct goalkeeper behavior: press down on the ball of the foot, shorten the angle, install fast reaction, shot / throw variations, switch quickly from fend off to initiate / shot on goal. - 8 cones, 2 large field goal (s)
