Head-to-head battle 3 against 3 with two flankers + goalkeeper

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

Construction of a gate and two cones according to the drawing. Two groups are formed. A player from each group goes to one of the two cones. There are three players in each group in the penalty area. The rest of the players are outside the penalty area. The balls are distributed at the cones.

Procedure

The first player at the cone starts the exercise with a cross ball into the
penalty area. As soon as he goes into the hollow movement for the cross, his three teammates, followed by three opponents, start from the height of the penalty area edge into the penalty area. There the team players try to score a goal, the opposing players try to prevent it. Then three new players from each team come into the field and the opposite flanker plays the ball into the penalty area, etc.

Tip

- The flanks can be played as a curved ball (banana flank) or as an internal clamping joint (linearly increasing trajectory of the ball). - Vary balls at the short and long posts with balls in the back room. - The hit area for the header is the forehead. - The momentum for the header is obtained from the 'arch tension' of the upper body (hollow cross posture). - Pay attention to fair duels in head-to-head battles (without using elbows). - Request physical contact. - The defending players either try to be on the ball in front of the attacker or to position themselves between the attacker and the goal in order to ward off the attack from there. - The goalkeeper tries to intercept the cross. - 2 cones, 1 large field goal (s)
