Set up a playing field using a net and four cones (see diagram). Two players go into each half and play as a team against the team in the other half. Scoring follows football tennis rules.
Procedure
The "serve" is a throw-in into the back area of the court. After that, football tennis rules apply, but only headers are allowed. If the ball touches the ground, goes out of bounds, or is touched with a body part other than the head, the other team scores a point. Typically 2-3 winning sets are played. Each set normally goes to 11 and must be won by a 2-point margin. Therefore, a team may need to score more than 11 points to win the set (12:10; 15:13, etc.).
Tip
- The contact surface for the header is the forehead. - The power for the header comes from the arching of the upper body (hollow back position). - For a diving header or a header after jumping, the player pushes off with the balls of the feet. - This drill intensively trains heading while moving and firm, placed heading. - 4 cones, 1 football tennis net
