Header Pendulum / Domino Effect

Setup

Set up two cones. Two groups are formed and line up behind the cones as shown in the diagram.

Procedure

Player 1 (red) heads the ball to Player 1 (blue) and then immediately crouches down. Player 1 (blue) heads it to Player 2 (red), then immediately crouches down, and Player 2 (red) heads it on to Player 2 (blue). Player 2 (blue) then to Player 3 (red), and so on back to Player 3 (blue)...etc. When the last header reaches Player 5 (blue), the order is reversed and the drill starts again from Player 5 (blue).

Tip

- The contact surface for the header is the forehead. - The power for the header comes from the arching of the upper body (hollow back position). - The players intensively train their heading timing and precise heading. - 2 cones
