Indoor Training: Finishing Competition with Various Dribbling Tasks

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point, End
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Pitch: Three stations are set up side by side in one half of the hall, each with a cone as a starting position. At Station A, 4 slalom poles lead in a row to the goal, at Station B, 3 tall cones form a triangle with sides of about 2 to 3 metres, at Station C, 4 slalom poles stand staggered to one another.

Equipment: 8 slalom poles, 3 tall cones, 3 cones, 1 goal, bibs in three colours, 1 ball per player.

Players: Three teams of as equal a size as possible, which are assigned to the Stations A, B and C, plus a goalkeeper.

Procedure

  • Station A: The players dribble through the slalom poles with both feet and with close ball control and finish with the left foot in front of the penalty area on the goal with the goalkeeper.
  • Station B: The players dribble to the tall cone triangle, carry out a feint of their choice in it, come out to the right or to the left and finish with the right or the left foot.
  • Station C: The players dribble through the staggered slalom poles with both feet and with close ball control and finish with the right foot.
  • The order is A, B, C.
  • After 4 to 5 minutes of running time, positions and tasks are changed.

Scoring: Run it as a team competition: which team scores the most goals after three rounds?

Variations:

  • At Station B specify the feints and change them regularly.
  • At the Stations A and C set dribbling tasks, for example dragging the ball backwards or sideways with the sole.

Note: Drill idea by Max Schönijahn.

Tip

  • Watch for the use of both feet in the dribbling and for close ball control.
  • Watch for accuracy in the finish.
  • Watch for correct execution.
