A playing field with 2 goals is set up. Several balls are placed in the goals. The coach forms two teams of 6-9 players each.
Procedure
Two teams with goalkeepers are formed. The ball may only be controlled in the air. If the ball touches the ground, the other team gets possession. The team not in possession may challenge the opponent and try to win the ball. Only the goalkeeper may handle the ball. If the ball has touched the ground, it may be volleyed from the hand to a teammate from the point of ground contact. The player receiving the ball may juggle it with as many touches as desired. Goals may only be scored directly (with one touch/volley or e.g., a header). Alternative: - Only 1, 2, or 3 touch(es) allowed - The ball may be caught but can only be passed as a volley.
Tip
- Long goal kicks by the goalkeeper often create more flow and tempo in the game. - Whenever possible, passes should be played first-time. - Teams should be divided by position (so that not everyone stands up front or in the back). - A game format for a team with advanced technical skills and playing level. - 6 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
