Juggling - Instep Alternating Right/Left

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Each player has a ball.

Procedure

The player juggles the ball alternately with the right and left foot. The contact surface is the instep. Alternative: - Juggling with the laces area (very difficult - requires enormous fine technique) - Juggling with toes pulled up (the easiest juggling variatio - the ball gets spin toward the body)

Tip

- Always make sure both feet are used alternately. - The upper body is upright, eyes looking down. - The standing leg is slightly bent at the knee. - The playing leg is also bent at the knee, with the knee pulled slightly upward so the foot lifts off the ground. - The ball is struck 20-30 cm above the ground. - The ankle is extended, toes pointing forward, sole horizontal. - Make sure the ball does not touch the toes and does not receive rotation ("lettering always readable"). - The arms are at the sides of the body and bent at the elbows (similar to carrying a crate of water). - Juggling with the instep prepares the player for the passing and shooting techniques of the inside-of-the-foot pass and the instep drive.
