Juggling Techniques

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Each goalkeeper has a ball.

Procedure

The goalkeepers try to juggle the ball. All body parts except the arms/hands can be used. Can also be practised as active recovery during exercise breaks.

Tip

- When juggling with the foot, make sure to juggle the ball with both feet using the instep (the contact area is the top of the foot without toes). This juggling technique is a good preliminary exercise for learning, reinforcing, and optimising the foot position for the instep kick. The exercise is performed correctly when the ball does not spin during juggling. - Train different juggling variations/relays: right foot - left thigh - left foot - right thigh; right foot - head - left thigh - left foot - head - right thigh - right foot; etc.
