Jumping towards the ball

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Several balls are placed intermittently at different points. The goalkeeper stands by the balls.

Procedure

the goalkeeper jumps to ball 1 and controls it, stands up, lets it go and chooses another ball (2), to which he dives etc.

Tip

Jump technique training\n- The jump takes place either with no intermediate steps or just one. Several steps are a waste of time. The body weight determines the jump with the push-off leg.\n- With a quick step the goalkeeper falls to the side. He slows momentum over his right foot and pushes off of the ground with the ball of his foot. To the left he slows momentum over his left foot.\n- The leg nearest the ground is bent during the fall.\n- When standing up again use one hand to push off the ground; the other hand is ready to react. \n
