Jumps with weight on shoulders

  • Age U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point

Setup

Different weights are attached to the players. The weights can be attached to the shoulder, to the ankles or to the hands.

Procedure

The players make jumps with the weights trying to get as high as possible. Repetitions: 15-30 rounds: 3-6

Tip

Jump up => wide, expansive one-leg jumps. Alternating from the left to the right pad of the foot. Both legs are bent. The arms are swung along in the counter movement. The upper body is upright. The aim is to push yourself wide and high and stand in the air as long as possible. - Jump far (triple jump) => The jump and landing are only done on the footpads. The aim is to jump as far as possible, not as high as possible. The upper body is relatively upright during the jumps, with a slight hollow back posture. It is also angled slightly towards the side that is used to jump off. The arms support the jumps by swinging them dynamically. - Laterally offset jumps (skier jump / movement) => With the upper body slightly bent forward, the right and left leg alternately jump sideways to the front (with the right leg to the front right and the left leg to the front left) . It is important that the jump and landing take place over the footpads. The arms swing along supportively. If the standing leg touches down after the jump, the other leg is bent (no ground contact). The gaze is directed straight ahead. - Squat jumps => A powerful, two-legged jump pulls the knees / thighs towards the chest. The arms are bent and go into the backward movement. The upper body is upright. It is landed on the pad of the foot. After a short time on the ground, the next jump takes place immediately.
