Laterally Offset Bounds (Diagonal)

Setup

One set lasts approx. 10 seconds. The number of players is flexible. Two cones can mark the start and finish, for example.

Procedure

Players jump diagonally forward, alternating from the right to the left ball of the foot. When jumping forward-left, the left arm supports the jump impulse by swinging upward from below. The right arm does the same when jumping forward-right. The upper body remains upright.

Tip

- Palms are open (this makes a 3/100 sec. difference for a sprinter). - Run on the balls of the feet, not flat-footed or on the heels. - Quick, short movements. - Short ground contact time.
