For field training, portable and functional weights such as medicine balls are needed. Ideally, medicine balls/weights of varying weights would be available.
Procedure
Using the example of training with a medicine ball: The players lie flat on their backs on the ground. They engage their abdominal muscles and try to keep the entire spine on the ground. They bend their legs with soles parallel to the ground. They place the smallest/lightest medicine ball on the soles and extend their legs upward. As many repetitions as possible should be done until maximum exhaustion is reached. Then the next heavier medicine ball is used. This continues until only one repetition is possible. Ideally, this exercise is trained in a weight room on the leg press machine. For the training field, resistance bands are also suitable. The resistance can be individually adjusted, e.g., by doubling the band. For load variation/intensification, the exercise can also be performed with one leg.
Tip
- The player sits in the leg press with legs bent and pushes the legs upward. - The player braces to the sides with the hands or holds on. - The movement can vary between slow and explosive.
