The player starts dribbling with the right foot and initiates the Locomotive. The movement resembles an old steam engine. The foot goes over the ball and a back-heel trick is faked. Speed is reduced during this. Instead of the back-heel, the ball is taken forward with the instep in the original running direction while sharply accelerating (sprint). The feint and change of pace aim to shake off the opponent. Immediately after, the ball carrier spins 360 degrees around his own axis and continues running. During the turn, the ball is kept close to the foot. A maximum of 3 ball contacts are allowed for the turn. Then the sequence is repeated with the left foot. Technique sequence: 1-5 - Locomotive 6 - Spin around own axis 7 - Dribbling
Tip
Locomotive technique: - The upper body is slightly leaning forward at the start of the dribble. - Do not lean backward. - The arms are bent at the elbows and carried at the sides of the body in the normal running/walking arm motion. - The legs are slightly bent at the knees during execution. Rosicky feint technique: - The turn should be performed in the tightest space possible. - The turn with ball control is one fluid movement. - The ball must never be more than 70 cm from the foot. - The standing leg is no more than 50 cm from the ball and moves in a radius of maximum 70 cm. - The upper body is slightly leaning forward. Both legs are not too far apart. - The ball-touching leg is bent. - With the last ball touch during the turn, the sprint is initiated (explosive burst out of the turn).
