Low / high jumps with boxes

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Two bars / boxes with a distance of 1.5-2 meters are set up for each station. For each station, 3-6 players line up in front of the first bar.

Procedure

Exercise 1: The player climbs on the first bar, jumps to the ground and immediately with the shortest possible contact time (one short contact) on the second bar. After 8 repetitions, the bar height of the second bar is increased by 30 cm until the bar is 1.5 m high before the last pass. 8 repetitions per round add up to 40 jumps per player. As soon as the first player jumps off the first bar, the next one starts. Exercise 2: jumps from an elevated starting bar to an equally high second bar. A total of 8 jumps.

Tip

- In both exercises, one foot is stretched forward before the jump, with which one first touches the ground with the footpad! - The arms are used to get momentum when jumping. - The floor is only touched very briefly. - The force is pushed up and not into the ground. - The upper body is upright or slightly bent forward. - This jumping technique is also called drop jump.
