The player controls the ball to the side of his body. He guides the ball with the right inside of the foot, rolling to the sole, toward the left and executes a lunge by shifting his centre of gravity to the right (upper body goes to the right / centre of gravity over the left leg). Immediately after, he straightens up again and plays the ball with the left outside of the foot. This technique is now performed with the left foot and transitions into a rapid backward ball dribble using the front sole (ball of the foot). The player alternates using the right and left sole (twice each right and left). Technique sequence: 1 - Starting position right foot 2 - Ball caress right inside/sole 3 - Lunge to the right 4 - Ball control with left outside of the foot 5 - Starting position left foot 6 - Ball caress left inside/sole 7 - Lunge to the left 8 - Ball control with right outside of the foot 9 - 12 Backward ball control with sole, starting with right, alternating right/left
Tip
Ball caress with inside sole/inside technique: - The player guides the ball to the side of his body. He moves the ball with the right foot to the left and with the left foot to the right. A slight scooping motion of the leg precedes the ball contact. - First contact with the ball is with the inside, rolling to the inner sole. The foot is then pulled sideways over the ball as it "travels" across the entire width of the sole. The lateral movement causes the legs to cross. - When guiding the ball with the right foot, the right leg is to the left of the left (standing) leg. This automatically creates a slight rotation at the hip (the left shoulder turns to the right). - "Caressing" the ball means applying only light pressure when guiding it. - Keep the legs bent. - Move on the balls of the feet. - Short ground contact time. - The upper body is slightly leaning forward. - Do not lean backward. - The arms are carried at the sides of the body in the normal running/walking arm motion. Lunge technique: - The player starts a dribble with the left foot and initiates a body feint by shifting the centre of gravity to the left (upper body goes left / centre of gravity over the left leg). Immediately after, he straightens up and plays the ball with the right outside to the right. - The upper body is upright at the start and then slightly leaning forward, tilting to the side during the body feint. Do not lean backward. - The left, ball-carrying leg becomes the standing leg and pushes off on the outside. Ideally, the player pushes off on the left ball of the foot. - It should be a fluid, fast movement. - Bend the leg when receiving the ball. Sole technique: - Touch the ball only lightly ("gently"). A feel for the ball must be developed. - Show the player that the foot-ball contact time is relatively short and the foot is not pulled completely over the ball. - The upper body alternates between upright and slightly leaning forward. - The arms are carried at the sides of the body in the normal running/walking arm motion. - The legs are slightly bent at the knees during execution. - Alternate touching the ground with the balls of the feet. - The eyes should regularly leave the ball. Provide guidance.
