A goalkeeper and three outfield players are positioned on the field as shown in the diagram. The two blue players act as defenders, the red player as an attacker. The attacker has the ball.
Procedure
The goalkeeper opens the play with a pass/throw to the attacker C waiting on the half-way line. The ball-carrying attacker runs to the defender B. In doing so he dribbles, feinting to the left and to the right. Player A safeguards player B in that he takes part in the changes of direction that C makes. If player B is outplayed, defender A apprehends player C immediately and B safeguards player A at the back as soon as possible and follows for his part the lateral changes in direction of player A. The attacker attempts to out-dribble the two defenders and get a shot on goal in through tempo dribbling and depending on the situation, the use of feints/dummies.
Tip
1 full-court goal(s), - At the beginning the striker should run to the defenders at only a moderate tempo in order to give them as good a chance as possible to tailor the paths to each other.\n- The distance of the defender at the back to the one in front should always be about 5 meters.\n- If the first defender is outplayed, the defender at the back runs to the attacker. When he is about 2-3 meters in front of him he reduces his speed, comes to a standstill and running laterally offset backwards, takes up the tempo of the attacker.\n
