One-Two with overlapping Dribbling

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

6 cones are laid out as shown. It is recommended to use large cones for the outer cones or flages (see graphic). The advantage with this is that the players then have to run around the cones/flags and cannot jump over them or cut the corners. 6 players stand opposite each other at a distance of 15 - 20 meters. The exercise is suitable for 6 - 10 players.

Procedure

A passes on the ground or in the air to B. Player B lays the ball off to the side for A to run on to. A dribbles to the cone and around B then to the large cone/flag and then dribbles back to the other group. After running with the ball the player joins the back of the red group. The red and blue groups complete the exercise at the same time in opposite directions (as shown). Alternative: This exercise can take place in the form of a competition. Both groups start at the same time as described. One team receives a point when their player reaches the opposing team first. The team with the most points is the winner.

Tip

6 cones, Note: The players must keep their eye on the other players at all times so that they don't get in each others way. - The timing of the passes and the player runs often doesn't fit. The players either pas too early or too late. - The player waiting for the ball should always make a short, dynamic dummy run away from the ball before receiving the pass. - When laying the ball off the foot should be lifted slightly. - Hard and exact passes. - The player often runs faster than he passes.
