Using 8 cones, a small square is set up inside a larger square. A player positions at each cone. Two players position at each outer cone. The players at the starting cone need a ball.
Procedure
Three players always start the same opponent-beating passing sequence. The four players in the inner (small) square switch positions vertically after the one-two. A plays a one-two with D. Player C passively challenges and then runs back to his starting point, now becoming the passer against a passive defender in the opposite direction. A dribbles to cone C and takes his position and tasks.
Tip
- This passing and dribbling drill is very running-intensive. - Do not place the standing leg too far from the ball and make sure the players do not lean backward. - Pass timing and start timing are crucial. - Often the players run faster than they pass. - Demand sharpness and accuracy in passing. - Ball reception and control should be one touch. - Keep the dribbling tempo high. - Clean ball handover to the passing foot of the waiting player. - 8 cones
