Outnumbering Attacks and Clinical Finishing

  • Age U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players

Setup

• small red field in center-circle (5m x 5m)
• mark field in the size of 30m x 40m
• 10 players in 2 teams (6 and 4 players per team); the team of 4 players will defend the goal, the team of 6 will position 4 attacking players in the opponents half
• Coach will start the drill by playing in the balls

Procedure

The coach starts the drill by passing the ball to one of the two players outside the marked field.

They are free to dribble into the field or play a pass to their teammate in the marked field.

After completing his pass, the passer will move up into the field as well.

The attacking players will try to outnumber the defending team and finish on goal.

The player outside of the field remains to be a backpass option.

If the defending team gains possession of the ball, they will try to play a pass in to the coach.

After losing the ball, the attacking team will immediately counterpress and try to win the ball back as quick as possible.

After the counterpress was successful, the attacking team can create a chance to score.

When a goal is scored or the ball is out of play, the coach will play in a new ball.

After some time, the attacking and defending team will switch.

Tip
