Passing Circuit with Free Movement

  • Age U6 - U13
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

  • Mark a field from midfield to the edge of the penalty area.
  • Set up several small cone goals throughout the field.
  • Divide the players into groups of 3.
  • Provide one ball per group.

Procedure

  • The 3 players pass the ball to each other in sequence, always through one of the cone goals.
  • The pass to the next player must be a one-two through a cone goal (the second/direct pass goes through the goal).
  • A passes to B, who plays directly through a cone goal to C (play through a third player). Then, C passes to A, who plays directly to B through a cone goal, and so on.
  • A passes to B, B lays off to A, and A plays directly through a cone goal to C, and so forth.

Tip

Coaching Points:

  • Take the ball directly into movement.
  • On the one-two pass, execute an explosive change of pace after the first pass.
  • Pay attention to the spacing between players.
