- Set up a cone square.
- The starting position (player with ball) must be at least double-occupied
- With 10+ players, set up a 2nd square
The passing sequence is always the same: The ball-carrying player passes to the next teammate, who comes toward the ball. The teammate lets the ball bounce back, runs around the cone, and receives the give-and-go. He then plays to the next player. The players always move one cone station further after their second pass. Alternative: The wall passer plays the first pass directly; after rounding the cone, he can control the ball with the first touch and then pass.
This exercise requires a certain warm-up time!
- The ball-expecting player starts his counter-movement simultaneously with the passer's backswing.
- The wall passer must adjust his running speed to the pass speed. - Do not place the plant foot too far from the ball and make sure the players do not lean backward.
- Pass timing and start timing are decisive.
- Often the players run faster than they pass.
- Demand pass sharpness and accuracy.
Other important points:
- The plant foot should be placed 30 - 40 cm to the side of or level with the ball.
- For the inside of the foot pass, the toe points upward, the ankle is firmly tensed, and the upper body leans slightly forward over the ball.
- Stand on the balls of the feet, slightly raise the kicking foot, and strike the ball in the centre. Bring the body over the ball and do not lean backward (receiving the ball follows the same principle).
- After striking the ball, follow through with the leg.
- Pay attention to the arms! When passing with the right inside of the foot, the left arm goes to the right hip; when using the left inside of the foot, the right arm goes to the left hip!
- For the instep pass, the ankle is extended, toes point to the ground, and the upper body leans slightly over the ball.
- When playing the ball with the outside of the foot, the player can easily lean backward.
- For the inside of the foot kick, the player moves laterally offset to the ball and the body goes into a tilted position.
