Passing in a Square with Pass Variation I

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players

Setup

Two triangles are set up side by side. All cones are occupied by one player; two players stand at the starting position with a ball.

Procedure

Player D opens the sequence with a diagonal pass to A and runs to Cone VI. Player A plays a give-and-go with B and takes the position at Cone IV. B runs to Cone V. Player C passes the ball (5) on to Player F and runs to Cone III. F in turn plays a give-and-go with D. The passing and running path sequence repeats constantly, so that each player occupies every position over the course of the sequence.

Tip

- This passing game is very running-intensive and demands a high level of football intelligence. - Do not place the plant foot too far from the ball and make sure the players do not lean backward. - Pass timing and start timing are decisive. - Do not forget the running path. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - Accuracy before speed. - Concentration must be maintained. - Anticipation, perception, reaction, movement and action speed with and without the ball are constantly demanded. - 6 cones
