Use four cones to set up a square and place an additional cone in the centre. Players distribute evenly at the outer cones and one player positions himself at the centre cone.
Procedure
Player A passes to B, who passes outward to player C. C has the option to play a lateral pass to D, a diagonal pass to E, or a straight-line pass to E. The passing path is simultaneously the running path. The goal is to create a constantly changing passing and positional game with one touch per player. A lateral, diagonal, or straight-line pass must always be followed by a pass into the centre. The player expecting the ball always makes a counter-movement, runs toward the pass, and briefly accelerates during his run to the cone.
Tip
"Precision before power" is the motto for this drill as well. Only when the passes cleanly and accurately reach the teammate can the speed of position changes be increased. Players should communicate with each other and develop game awareness and tempo so that a smooth flow is ensured. Additional important points: - The standing foot should be placed 30-40 cm to the side of or level with the ball. - For the inside-of-the-foot pass, the toes point upward, the ankle is firmly locked, and the upper body leans slightly forward over the ball. - Stand on the balls of the feet, slightly lift the kicking foot, and strike the ball in the centre. Bring the body over the ball and do not lean backward. - Follow through with the leg after striking the ball. - Watch the arms! When passing with the right inside, the left arm moves toward the right hip; when passing with the left inside, the right arm moves toward the left hip! - For the instep pass, the ankle is extended, toes point to the ground, and the upper body leans slightly over the ball. - When playing the ball with the outside of the foot, a slight backward lean is acceptable. - For the inside kick, move laterally offset to the ball; the body tilts at an angle. - The player expecting the pass starts his run when the passer begins the kicking motion. - 5 cones
