Passing in two Boxes V

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

A large box and a small box are formed with 8 cones. 10 players occupy the cones. The two start cones should be occupied by more than one player. (1) Position change

Procedure

The drill starts with a square ball from both players at the start positions to their neighbors (1).

This is followed by two cross-field passes. The firstpass is passed from the player in the outer box to the player closest tohim in the inner box. The second pass is passed to the next player in theouter box (2+3).

After each pass players change places horizontally so that the positions are permanently changed, this way there is always movement in the game.

Alternative:

After a few minutes the players change positions from the inner to the outer box.

Tip

- 8 cones.

- This drill is very tiring.

- The standing leg is often too far away from the ball and/or the player leans back.

- Timing of the pass is important.

- Players often run faster than they pass.

- Demand good strength of pass and pass precision.
