A small square is built inside a large square. Ten players position themselves at the cones, with both starting positions occupied by two players. (1) Position change
Procedure
The passing exercise begins with a horizontal pass from both players at the starting positions to their respective cone neighbors (1). Then two diagonal passes follow. The first pass is played from the outer square player to the nearest player in the inner square, the second from this player to the next player in the outer square (2+3). After each pass played, the players standing horizontally (side by side) to each other switch positions, creating constant interplay and thus a high rate of movement. Alternative: After a few minutes, the players switch positions from inside to outside and vice versa.
Tip
- This passing exercise is very running-intensive. - Do not place the standing foot too far from the ball and ensure the players do not lean backward. - The pass timing and start timing are crucial. - Players often run faster than they pass. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - 8 cones
