  • Training Set Main point

Setup

  • 6 cones to mark positions

  • 1 goal

Procedure

  • The right full-back dribbles forward, cuts inside, and passes the ball to the right center-back.
  • The right center-back switches the play to the left center-back.
  • At the same time, the left full-back makes a run inside, and the left winger moves out to the sideline.
  • The left center-back passes the ball to the left winger.
  • The left winger engages in a 1v1 situation.
  • The left winger dribbles past the defender (towards the goal line).
  • Simultaneously, the right winger starts his run. Initially runs with the defensive line and then makes a run to the near post just before the ball is crossed.
  • The left winger crosses the ball into the box.
  • The right winger or the overlapping left-back immediately takes a shot on goal.

Tip

Coaching Points:

  • Right full-back: perform a change of pace after cutting inside.
  • Shift the play with sharp passes and second touches.
  • Left winger: dribble decisively and use feints and changes of pace to beat the defender; deliver the cross while running at full speed.
  • Left full-back & right winger: don't run into the box too early; run diagonally towards the goal and towards the crosser.
