Three cones are set up in a line as shown in the diagram. One player stands at each cone. Player C has a ball.
Procedure
Player C plays a give-and-go with Player B and then plays a lofted ball over Player B to A. After receiving the ball, A begins a speed dribble toward the approaching Player B, whom he tries to beat with a feint. A continues his speed dribble and must then beat the also-approaching Player C with a feint. A takes the position at Cone I. C takes the position at Cone II, and B goes to Cone III.
Tip
First, practise the passing exercise slowly, then increase the passing tempo. The ball-expecting players always make a preparatory movement. A dynamic jump step sideways or backward, then moving toward the pass. The exercise is enormously running-intensive at fast execution speeds. - Under defensive pressure, a very demanding, game-like passing and dribbling game is required. - The ball-expecting players call for the ball with a verbal cue. - Pass and start timing are decisive. - Often the players run faster than they pass and vice versa. - Do not forget the running path. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - Accuracy before speed. - Concentration must be maintained. - Developing creativity and football intelligence. - Anticipation, perception, reaction, movement and action speed with and without the ball are constantly demanded. - 3 cones
