Set up two mirror-image trapezoids according to the diagram. The starting positions are double/multi-occupied; the remaining positions have one player each. The players at the starting cone have a ball.
Procedure
Players A and E start the exercise simultaneously, creating the same exercise sequence in both groups. Player A opens the passing combination with a diagonal pass to Player C, who lets it bounce to Player B. Player B now plays a diagonal pass to D. D plays a give-and-go with Player C, while being pressured by Player F, and finishes his run with a speed dribble to the starting position. Player F then runs back to his position. In the other group, Player B pressures the give-and-go. After each pass within the groups, the position changes by one cone clockwise. The diagonal ball can be played as a low pass or as a lofted ball.
Tip
- The ball-expecting player always takes a step back in a dynamic jumping motion and then takes a step toward the ball. - Play passes sharply, accurately, and low. - When letting the ball bounce, slightly raise the foot. - If the diagonal pass is played as a lofted ball, make sure the receiving player can redirect it directly. This means an accurate, not too hard pass at maximum chest height is required. - Make sure the sequences in both groups run as synchronously as possible so that the player who briefly leaves the group to pressure the give-and-go can be back at his cone position in time to participate in the passing play. - 8 cones
