Eight cones are set up as specified. The starting cones with balls, like the other cones, are each occupied by one player. The layout creates 4 groups with one ball each. (1) Group 1 (2) Group 2 (3) Group 3 (4) Group 4
Procedure
All 4 groups start simultaneously and have the same passing paths in all groups. Example GROUP I: A plays a give-and-go with B and then plays a lofted ball to Player A of Group II. Simultaneously, Group II plays the same passing sequence and Player A of that group plays the lofted ball to his counterpart in Group I. Groups III + IV play the same passing sequence to each other analogously. After the lofted ball, the players within the groups switch positions at sprint speed.
Tip
First, practise the passing exercise slowly, then increase the passing tempo. The ball-expecting players always make a preparatory movement. A dynamic jump step sideways or backward, then moving toward the pass. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy, but also emphasise a controlled, clean pass before the lofted ball so it can ideally be played directly. - Accuracy before speed. - Concentration must be maintained. - This game form demands the highest technical proficiency under time pressure. - Constant communication with each other should be demanded. - Make sure the balls do not collide and the sequences run synchronously. - 8 cones
