Six cones are set up as specified. The starting cone with ball, like the other three cones, is occupied by one player.
Procedure
A plays a long ball to D and immediately moves after the pass to the outer cone, where he receives the ball and plays a give-and-go with D. D moves after the first pass to the right outer cone, then plays directly to B, who has taken A's position. A switches in two running paths to C's previous position at Cone I, C to Cone III, B to A's previous position at Cone IV, and D in two running paths to Cone II. Principle: Long ball – give-and-go – through pass
Tip
First, practise the passing exercise slowly, then increase the passing tempo. The ball-expecting players always make a preparatory movement. A dynamic jump step sideways or backward, then moving toward the pass. The exercise is enormously running-intensive at fast execution speeds with only four players. - Under time pressure, a very demanding, game-like passing game is required. - The ball-expecting players call for the ball with a verbal cue. - Pass timing and start timing are decisive. - Often the players run faster than they pass and vice versa. - Do not forget the running path. - Demand pass sharpness and accuracy. - Accuracy before speed. - Concentration must be maintained. - This passing game is very running-intensive and demands a high level of football intelligence. - The players need some time to memorise the exercise sequence. - Good ball security and combination play are the goals. - Anticipation, perception, reaction, movement and action speed with and without the ball are constantly demanded. - 6 cones
