Pressing race

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 10-15 players, 16-22+ players

Setup

• Divide into 2 teams of equal size (6 or 8 players)
• Cones to mark playing field
• Mark 6 subfields (each 3 in a row)
• 1 ball per group

Procedure

In each of the first subfields, a 5 against 3 (or 4 against 2) is divided. Each team is outnumbered in one field and outnumbered in the other field.

The team with the majority starts the game from the starting line and tries to keep the ball in one part of the field for as long as possible. The outnumbered team tries to direct the opponent's attack in such a way that he is forced to play into the next subfield.

Once the ball has been played into the next higher part of the field, it may no longer be played into the previous part of the field.

The aim of the shorthanded team is for the ball to cross the finish line. Either because the undernumbered team dribbles into the next subfield or because the overnumbered team directs possession of the ball in such a way that they are forced to make mistakes.

Which team will reach the finish line first?

Tip

• Alternatively, you can also start on field 2 with the option that the majority team can also dribble back into the previous subfield
