Prone position + throw

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

The goalkeeper lies on the ground in front of the goal. The goalkeeper coach (GC) takes position at the penalty spot.

Procedure

The goalkeeper lies face down on their stomach. The GC gives a verbal signal, to which the goalkeeper reacts as quickly as possible and dives for the ball. Intensity: 6-10 shots.

Tip

- When getting up, briefly use one hand to push off; the other hand is ready to react. If they choose the right leg to get up first, they stand on the right leg first and then push off with the left. If lying with the upper body sideways to the left, they brace with both arms forward, stand on the right leg first, and then push off with the left. - Foot/toes point toward the ball, not forward. - The goalkeeper dives sideways with a swing step. To the right by generating momentum through the right foot and pushing off laterally from the balls of the feet. To the left by generating momentum through the left foot. - During this movement, the hands and face are directed toward the shooter. The basic rule is to hold the ball. - 1 full-size goal(s)
