Reaction from Back-Turned Position

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

The goalkeeper stands in the goal, one goalkeeper coach (GC) is 10 to 16 m away and the other is behind the goal. One ball is with the GC behind the goal, the remaining balls are with the GC in front of the goal.

Procedure

The goalkeeper stands with his back to the goalkeeper coach. On the coach's signal, the goalkeeper turns toward the goalkeeper coach and tries to save his shot.

Tip

- The goalkeeper reacts to a pre-agreed signal (a game-realistic option is a visual signal such as a ball passed into the goal by the coach - but it can also be a verbal call, raising an arm, or dropping a ball by a coach/teammate positioned behind the goal). - As soon as the goalkeeper begins to turn, the coach takes the shot. - The goalkeeper tries to hold onto the balls. If this is not possible, he should parry the balls to the side. - The takeoff is either without or with only one intermediate step. Multiple steps result in too much time lost. The body weight is on the push-off leg at takeoff. - The goalkeeper jumps with a swing step to the side. To the right by generating momentum through the right foot and pushing off laterally over the balls of the feet. To the left by generating momentum through the left foot. - 1 full-size goal(s)
