The goalkeeper stands in the goal. The goalkeeping coach positions himself 12-16m away with balls in front of the goal according to the diagram.
Procedure
The coach shoots low or mid height balls toward the goal. The goalkeeper takes the ball with both hands, controls it and at the same time falls forwards. Finally he stands up and rolls the ball back to the coach. Alternative: also practice lateral rolls over the shoulder. This is important for in-game situations with opposition pressure, when a forward roll out is not possible.
Tip
the goalkeeper always moves off his forefoot/soccer ball. He has to learn to keep focused on the ball until he has it under control.\n- He stands with his feet parallel.\n-The goalkeeper goes down on one knee, puts his hands in front of this knee (lower arms are close to each other and parallel) and safely collects the ball. Make sure, the goalkeeper puts weight on both knees, so always use the knee closest to the ball. Finally whilst pulling the ball to himself he can push off forwards with both feet and fall facing forwards/away from goal.\n-When rolling the ball, he places the ball in his palm, the leg closest to the ball steps forward and both legs are bent (crouched position). When rolling with the left arm, the left leg is accordingly placed in front to the right. At the same time the bodyweight is placed on the left leg. The left arm is guided powerfully forwards toward the ground and thereby the ball placed on the ground. The hand thrusts the ball forwards and dictates the direction. The right arm makes an exactly opposite backswing movement, parallel to the left hand
