Receiving by Pulling the Ball Back with Sole and Inside of Foot
Training SetProgression, Main point
Procedure
The coach plays a pass. The player stands with his back to the opponent or goal and pulls the ball away from the goal with the right inside. He turns toward the left shoulder and arrives in an open, frontal position facing the goal. Technique sequence: 1 - Receive with right inside 2 - 180-degree turn and take ball with right inside 3 - Open position, optional dribble
Tip
Technique and body position: Pulling ball back with inside of foot with change of direction: - When pulling the ball back, the standing leg (left) is level with the ball. - The ankle for hooking with the inside must be locked open, with toes pointing toward the ground. - The ankle is turned 90 degrees outward. - The standing leg also moves to the side. - The foot shields the ball so the opponent cannot play it. - When executed, a 180-degree turn occurs with the option of a final dribble in the opposite running direction.
