Receiving with the Outside of the Foot

  • Training Set Progression, Main point

Procedure

The player runs toward the coach's pass and receives it with the right outside, turns 180 degrees, and starts a dribble.

Tip

Technique and body position: - When receiving with the outside, the ankle is locked inward. The lower leg is also angled inward at the knee so the foot movement can go from top to bottom and from left to right toward the ball. The contact surface is the entire outside of the foot. - The upper body is slightly leaning forward, to the side, over the ball.
