Ronaldo Trick II

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

One ball per player.

Procedure

The player starts dribbling, then passes the ball with the sole of the right foot/instep to the left and moves the left foot from the right, in, over the ball. (Fake shot trick). He then passes the ball with the outside of the left cleat, to the left and dribbles past his opponent.

Tip

- The players should stroke the ball with their instep/sole of their foot. \n- The upper body should be slightly leant forwards. \n- The players should complete this trick on the balls of their feet.\n- The fake shot trick is a full body movement. As a result, the player should make sure that he moves his body away from the ball until the last minute before touching the ball. He moves his shooting foot over the ball, quickly touches his foot down directly behind the ball in order to flick the ball to the side with his outstep. When he completes this trick with his right foot, he steps over the ball from right to left and then moves away with the ball with his right outstep. At the start of the trick the players should keep their movements (upper body swing and step over) short and quick and not make long, slow movements. \n- The exercise should be started slowly without any obstacles or opponents. As the player becomes more confident, the speed can be increased and a obstacle (cone) introduced. Finally the trick should be completed with an opponent. \n- Short, quick movements. \n- The player should not only look down at the ball. He should vary his view between player and ball. \n- After the trick the player should move the ball slightly to the left with the outside of the cleat. \n- Short, quick sprint.\n
