Rosicky - Dribbling with 360-Degree Turn

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Progression
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players

Setup

Mark out a cone square. Depending on group size, the penalty area can also be used as a boundary. Each player has a ball.

Procedure

The players dribble with the ball. On the coach's command, they turn once around their own axis (360-degree turn) and continue running. During the turn, they keep the ball close to the foot. They may use a maximum of 3 ball contacts for the turn. Then a short sprint (approx. 2 metres) follows.

Tip

- The turn should be performed in as small a space as possible. - The turn with ball control is one fluid movement. - The ball must not leave the foot by more than 70 cm at any point. - The standing leg is no more than 50 cm from the ball and moves in a radius of max. 70 cm. - The upper body is slightly leaning forward. Both legs are not spread wide apart. - The ball-touching leg is bent. - With the last ball touch during the turn, the sprint is initiated (explosive acceleration out of the turn). - 4 cones
