Number of Players1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players
Setup
5 cones, balls
Procedure
Exercise 1: Striker A initiates the action with a pass to B. B moves towards the ball and starts dribbling forward. Simultaneously, C starts a sprint and overlaps B. B then plays a through pass. C takes the ball to the baseline and crosses it long into the penalty area. A breaks away for the shot. The C players then return to their starting position. A and B switch places.
Exercise 2: In addition to Exercise 1, the striker now has a defender trying to block the shot.
Exercise 3: Now, a second defender is involved, attacking B. B has the option to pass outside or, if the defender anticipates the pass, to go inside themselves. The goal should be to play on the outside. After the outside pass, B moves forward and heads towards the near post. The defender must decide whether to follow B or to attack C. Perform the exercise alternately on the left and right.
Tip
While Exercise 1 is a pure training form without pressure, the pressure significantly increases in Exercise 2. In Exercise 3, the attackers again have a clear advantage. The C positions should be for the wide players.
