Set up three goals side by side and two starting cones (A+B) and a wall passer cone. One player (or the coach) stands at the wall passer cone, the others distribute evenly at the two starting cones. Each player has a ball.
Procedure
Shooting competition on three goals The starting player of one of the two groups begins the drill by playing a give-and-go with the wall passer and then shooting on one of the three goals. As soon as the player has shot, the starting player of the other group starts. From cone A, shots are taken with the left foot; from cone B, with the right foot. After each shot, the players switch starting cones. If the coach is not acting as the wall passer, the wall passer rotates regularly. Option: If the players score three goals in a row, the goalkeepers must do five push-ups; if the goalkeepers save three in a row, the field players must do five push-ups.
Tip
- Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Always have shooting drills performed with both feet. - Different shooting techniques (inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, curling, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - The next player starts immediately after the shot. - 3 cones, 3 full-size goal(s)
