Shooting Course I

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19, Men's / Women's
  • Training Set Progression, Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Set up a shooting course as shown in the diagram. Players position themselves with their ball at each station.

Procedure

Group A: The player dribbles in a slalom through the cone course. He starts his dribble to the left of the cone with the left inside of the foot. The ball should be guided with both feet. That means: right of the cone use the right foot, left of the cone use the left foot. The shot is a curled finish with the right foot. Group B 1: The player performs a feint before the cone and shoots. I.e., the player takes the ball with the right inside to the left past the cone and plays the ball (behind the cone) with the right outside of the foot to the right, then takes an inside/instep shot on the full-size goal. The same movement can also be performed mirrored with the left foot. Group B 2: The player dribbles around the cones with free foot choice and shoots with the right. Group C: The player dribbles in a slalom through the cone course. He starts his dribble to the right of the cone with the left outside of the foot. The ball should be guided with both feet. That means: right of the cone use the left foot, left of the cone use the right foot (outside). The shot is a curled finish with the left foot. Groups can either stay at a fixed station for a set time or rotate clockwise after each shot. If there is no goalkeeper in the group, the scorer becomes goalkeeper after each missed shot, for example. Motivation: Bet with the group: "You can't score 10 goals in 3 minutes. Losers do 15 push-ups." Or a bet between the goalkeeper and the players - no 10 goals. Losers do 15 push-ups.

Tip

- Ensure that passes are made with one touch and the ball is not played too far from the teammate in the running direction. - The shooter should approach the goal at high speed. - Clean execution of the body feint. Receiving and taking the ball are each one touch. - Demand various shooting techniques (inside of the foot, instep, outside of the foot, inside drive, curl). - Fast dribbling through the slalom course. - Practice two-footed shooting. - Demand correct body posture. - When finishing, do not stop beforehand but shoot from the running motion. - 2 mini goal(s), 18 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
