Shooting on Two Goals after Ball Handoff

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 1 - 5 players, 6 - 9 players

Setup

Set up two goals facing each other. Position one cone to the right and left of each goal on the end line and one additional cone in the field according to the diagram. Sufficient balls.

Procedure

The players distribute themselves evenly at the cones. Player A dribbles to the centre cone and hands off the ball to player A1. After a quick first touch, A1 shoots directly on goal. Same sequence for B and B1. Afterwards the positions are switched, so player A1 dribbles to the centre cone and hands off the ball to A who then gets to shoot.

Tip

- Make sure the ball control is done with one touch and the ball doesn't bounce too far from the foot. - Demand various shooting techniques (inside of the foot, instep, outside of the foot, inside instep...). - Quick dribbling to the centre cone. The player waiting for the ball must anticipate the dribbling speed well to arrive at the cone at the same time as the dribbler. - Practice shooting with both feet. - 6 cones, 2 full-size goals
