Set up a goal, a wall-pass cone, and a starting cone as shown. One player stands at the wall-pass cone, the others line up with balls at the starting cone.
Procedure
A plays a give-and-go with B, where B plays the ball into A's running path (see diagram). A then plays the ball through so that player B can sprint after it and shoot on goal. After the action, player A takes player B's spot and player B switches to the starting cone.
Tip
- The opening pass to the wall passer should be played to his strong foot. - Player B makes a counter-movement at the moment of A's backswing and then comes briefly toward the ball for the layoff. - Pay attention to powerful and precise passing. - The through ball must be timed so that the receiver can finish from the run before the penalty area. - Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Make sure that shooting with both right and left foot is trained. - Different shooting techniques (inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, curling, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - 2 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
