Set up a goal and two rows of 3 cones facing each other (see diagram) and a starting cone. One player positions at each cone. The remaining players position at starting position A.
Procedure
The player at starting position A plays give-and-gos with each player on all three cone levels, starting with a give-and-go with player B. Following the passing relay, he finishes with a shot on goal. After pass 5 (see diagram), the next player starts. The wall passers rotate regularly.
Tip
- The respective give-and-go partner (wall passer) makes a short counter-movement as soon as the passing player goes into the backswing and then comes briefly toward the ball. - The pass to the wall passer should be played to his strong foot. - If possible, all passes should be played first-time. - Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Make sure that shooting with both right and left foot is trained. - Different shooting techniques (inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, curling, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - 7 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
