Set up a goal, an orientation cone and a starting cone. The players line up at the starting cone. The balls are with the players.
Procedure
The player dribbles the ball toward the goal. At the level of the orientation cone, the player shoots on goal while running. As soon as the player reaches the cone, the next player starts dribbling, etc.
Tip
- Make sure shooting is trained with both right and left foot. For this, you can have players shoot only with the left from one cone and only with the right from the other. - Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; standing leg offset about 30-40 cm to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the shooting leg follows the wind-up motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Different shooting techniques (inside pass, instep drive, bending, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - When dribbling, pay attention to the following: - Regularly look up from the ball (alternating between looking at the ball and looking forward). - Keep the tempo high. - As many ball touches as possible. - Close ball control (ball should not be more than 50 cm from the foot). - 2 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
