Set up a goal, two starting cones, and a cone where the wall passer positions as shown. The players distribute evenly at both starting cones. The balls are also distributed to both starting cones. The starting players always have a ball.
Procedure
The wall passer is alternately played by the starting players of both groups with a high ball (chip). He lets the ball bounce high into the starting player's running path and orients himself toward the starting player of the second group. The approaching player now a) receives the ball on the run with one touch and shoots volley on goal with the second, or b) shoots the ball directly on goal volley without receiving it. Then he lines up at the other starting cone. Once the wall passer has passed the ball back, the starting player of the other cone begins his pass. The wall passer rotates regularly.
Tip
- When chipping, the foot goes under the ball and is lifted upward to the wall passer with the instep. - Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - For the volley shot, the upper body is slightly bent forward. The ball is struck at a low point (not too high). This gives the ball more power and greater accuracy. - Make sure the waiting starting player begins the drill as soon as the wall passer has passed the ball back to the active player. - The wall passer makes a short counter-movement as soon as the starting player goes into the backswing and then comes briefly toward the ball. - The ball reception and control should be a fluid movement. Excessive bouncing of the ball or reception deviating from a straight running path should be avoided. - The starting player runs toward the ball/goal after the ball has left the wall passer's foot. - 3 cones, 1 full-size goal(s)
