Shot on Two Goals After Through Ball

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point

Setup

Set up two opposing goals and four starting cones (see diagram). The players distribute evenly at the four starting cones. The players of group A and B have the balls.

Procedure

The players lay off balls for each other to shoot. Player A begins with a diagonal pass to player B1. Then player B lays the ball off for player A1 to shoot on goal. The players switch positions with their neighboring cone after each action (A with A1 / B with B1 and vice versa).

Tip

- When the passer goes into the backswing, the receiving player starts. - Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - Make sure that shooting with both right and left foot is trained. To do this, you can have players shoot only with the left from one side and only with the right from the other. - Different shooting techniques (inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, curling, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - 4 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
