Shot on Two Goals in Alternation

  • Age U6 - U13, U14 - U19
  • Training Set Main point
  • Number of Players 6 - 9 players, 10-15 players

Setup

Set up two opposing goals and two starting cones and a wall-pass cone (see diagram). One player goes to the wall-pass cone, the rest distribute evenly with balls at the two starting cones.

Procedure

The player from the red group B plays a give-and-go with the wall passer and then shoots the ball directly on goal. Now the wall passer turns to the other side and receives a pass from the player of the blue group A. He lets this one also bounce to the side for a shot. The players who have shot retrieve their ball and line up behind the other group. Option: The wall passer can also bounce the ball back into the passer's running path, who then must briefly receive/control the ball before shooting on goal. The wall passer rotates regularly.

Tip

- Pay attention to correct body posture when shooting: upper body over the ball; plant foot approx. 30-40 cm offset to the side of the ball, foot pointing in the shooting direction; arms swing along; the arm closest to the kicking leg follows the leg's backswing motion, the other is brought forward; eyes are on the ball at the moment of the shot. - The wall passer makes a short counter-movement as soon as the starting player goes into the backswing and then comes briefly toward the ball. - After the give-and-go, the wall passer must immediately turn to the other side to play the next give-and-go with the other group. - The pass to the wall passer should be played to his strong foot. - The passer starts as soon as the wall passer goes into the backswing.n Different shooting techniques (inside-of-the-foot shot, instep shot, curling, etc.) can be practised (possibly on the coach's instruction). - The ball reception and control should be done with one touch - 3 cones, 2 full-size goal(s)
