The goalkeeper coach positions himself approximately 10-22 m from the goal. A rebound board is placed between him and the goal. The goalkeeper is in the goal and the balls are with the goalkeeper coach.
Procedure
The goalkeeper coach shoots the balls against the rebound board toward the goal.
Tip
- As soon as the goalkeeper sees the ball, he must react accordingly and try to save or hold onto the ball. - The rebound board delays the goalkeeper's reaction time and he has less time to react to the ball. - This exercise simulates a deflected shot. - The goalkeeper coach can shoot the balls at the board in different ways, e.g., as a swerve shot or as an instep/inside-of-the-foot kick. - If the goalkeeper cannot hold the ball, he should deflect it to the side. - The position of the rebound board should be changed regularly so that the shooting position and deflection angle vary. - Depending on where on the board the shooter hits it and with what shot power, the flight path and speed of the ball change. - 1 full-size goal(s)
