Skip jumps high/single-leg bounds

Setup

One round lasts approximately 10 seconds. The number of players is flexible. Two cones can mark the start and finish, for example.

Procedure

Skip jumps high/single-leg bounds Push off powerfully and as high as possible with the left leg. The right leg is bent. The left (bent) arm also goes into the upward movement. The left leg is almost fully extended. Push off from the ball of the foot. When the right ball of the foot touches the ground, the same sequence begins with the right side. The upper body is upright. Short ground contact time, maximum speed.

Tip

- Palms are open (makes a difference of 3/100 sec. for a sprinter). - Run on the balls of the feet, not on the whole foot or the heel. - Quick, short, fluid movements. - Short ground contact time. - Push off powerfully upward. - 2 cones
